MINUTES OF THE 871st MEETING OF APEX CLUB OF PENANG
HELD ON 2/6/10, 8PM AT JADE PALACE RESTAURANT, PENANG
Attendance: Sr Apexian Victor Corbett, Amy Yeap, Jane Chan, Mike Ong,
Balan Menon, Jason Ang, Angie Low, Lifer Tony, Lifer Andrew Ong
and Gurmeet Singh.
Apology: Terrie Loo, Anthony, Ai Choo, Edward Mai and Jonathan Shoo.
1.0 Confirmation of Minutes
1.1 The 870th Minutes held on 19/5/2010 were proposed for adoption by Jason Ang
and seconded by Angie Low.
2.0 Southern Regional Meeting
2.1 Victor, Tony, Jason & Jane will receive RM30.00 each for attending the meeting.
3.0 Nominations for Victor to vie for Nat’l Vice President for 2010/2011
3.1 Mike Ong proposed and Gurmeet seconded for Victor Corbett to stand for Nat’l
V/P for 2010/2011.
3.2 Thanking members for the confidence in him, nevertheless, Victor turned down
the nominations.
4.0 Treasurer’s Report
4.1 Jane Chan reported that the accounts proper will be ready in a few days.
4.2 She reported from her schedules the following balances:
a) Cash in hand RM 254.59
b) Service Fund RM 1,219.56
c) General Fund RM 1,634.22
4.3 Lifer Tony reported that the Petty Cash( a pool from fines collection for Travel
Claims) amounted to RM436.80 as at end of May 2010.
5.0 Fund Raising Projects
5.1 To improve the cash position, it was proposed that a Charity Car Wash be
organized soon. Victor pledged to sell RM5,000/= worth of tickets. The other
members will pledge later.
5.2 Edward has obtained a cash donation of RM1,000/= which Apex Pg will donate
to Apex Philippines to fund their projects.
6.0 Other Matters
6.1 Members will meet with Apexians Rick Hose, Brian Fuller who will be in Penang
from 7/6/2010 to 9/6/2010.
6.2 They will also meet PNP Thavanesan and his 2 Australian friends from 11/6/2010
to 13/6/2010.
6.3 Tony Ng gave out Registration Forms to attend the 21st Apex Queensland Conv.
6.4 Fines collected RM24.00.
6.5 Meeting was then adjourned, proposed by Andrew Ong and seconded by
Gurmeet .
