Message from Senior member , Edwin SJ Ng

Dear Mike,

Thank you for your email and the contents are noted. I hope Victor whom I have known for nearly 30 years and you will change Apex into a more dynamic organisation with people who can understand your mission.

Apex need to refocus its mission. The needs of youth today are very difference and you have to meet these new challenges and forget how we operated in the late seventies,80's or even the 90's.

The type of services you can offer the present day youth need to be changed. Focus more on career challenges, career development, improvement of skills, IT training and etc.

You are absolutely right about National Conventions. They should be richly informative, and decorum highly observed, and productive workshops on how to move the organisation forward. Teach youth on articulations, presentations, how to survive work environment, and good social progammes....before preaching them social work.

The meaning of social work now..... is very far from social work two to three decades ago.

First, focus with good social progammes to build up the membership from the present 90 nationwide

to a better figure of at least 25 in each club with a good mixture of racial and gender composition.

Let the meetings have more socially informative programmes like inviting successful industry leaders to address on subjects of interest to their career enhancement, investment techniques, visits to industries and organisations as a start. Them move to subjects like how to sustain the family unit, how to survive the present day economic challenges......and then to social work and services.

Today's challenges are what can 'Apex do for us.....before asking Youth what can they do for Apex'

I wish you and Victor the best.
