Demise of Lifer Lim Chin Chai

Dear Apexians/Lifers/Life Governors/ Friend of Apex far and near,

With a heavy heart we wish to inform that Lifer Lim CC has passed away.

Lifer LimCC was a fine example of an Apexian, one who would rally to a

good cause. We all miss him.

President and members of Apex Club of Penang

My dad, the late Lifer Lim Chin Chai, lived and breathe the 3 principles of Apex - citizenship, fellowship and service. Throughout the past 30+ years, his pride and commitment to being a member of this Service Club is apparent in all his daily activities.

Back in the 70's, he continued to attend meetings and always participating in the many club events even when he was past the membership age limit set back-then at age 40. His continued support for all the club activities eventually led to him being inducted as a Lifer. His one lifetime wish to hold the position of as President of the Penang Club No. 8, finally came true these past couple of years, when he was in his 70's.Throughout all the years, the fellowship with Apexians near and far have build into many very close friendships between families and is held very dear to him and to our families as well.

We like to take this opportuinity to thank all Apexians who took the time to send their condolences in person and via email and text messages. Also, thanks to the many clubs throughout Malaysia, SIngapore and the Philippines that sent wreaths and flowers.

During my dad's lifetime, the times he shared being an Apexian travelling to the many clubs the world over were some of his happiest and cherished experiences.

Our family conveys our sincere thanks for all the support from the various Club members during our recent bereavement.

From the families of Say Cheang and Say Mei

Thanks for passing on the information about Chin Chai.

He was a great person and a devoted Apexian. I will always remember

him.

We exchanged Christmas cards every year that we were

back in Oz. We visited Penang twice and each time we were met by Chin

Chai at the airport. He also arranged a meal each time with all the

old Apexians.

Regards

Jim and Marg Stent

I was shocked to hear about the demise of Lifer Lim Chin Chye of Penang Club who was a great Apexian and a very fine gentleman. I knew the late Lifer Lim way back in the early seventies when the Apex Club of Penang was started. We had a very close relationship and we had interesting memories of that time. Lim always acknowledged me even up to this year, and we had our final moments in Kuala Lumpur during the National Convention there. I was very happy when I heard that he has recovered from his ailment and hoped to see him healthy in the next few years. It is with a very saddened heart that I received the message of his demise. He will always be remembered as a dedicated Apexian and he will certainly be missed by Penang Club as well as our Association. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Dear Apexians
I knew LM Lim from the 70’s when
he used go around snapping photos with his film camera. As a
person he was very friendly and had genuine desire to meet
apexians especially the older ones. We all were fortunate in
knowing him and I had the pleasure of meeting him for the
last time though at the convention in KL in August. As usual
he again showed his generosity by donating to the ETF a tidy
sum.
I will miss his friendly face and
his animated conversation. Truly a loss to the apex
fraternity. My heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family.

MAY HE REST IN PEACE. MAY GOD BLESS HIS SOUL.
