MINUTES OF THE 851st MEETING OF APEX CLUB OF PENANG
ON 1/07/09, 8PM AT MAY GARDEN RESTAURANT, PENANG
Attendance: President Andrew Ong, Lifer LimCC, Lifer Tony Ng, Victor Corbett,
Jason Ang, Balan Menon, Angie Low, Terrie Loo, Gurmeet Singh,
Mike Ong, Jane Chan & Anthony Jayakumar.
Apologies: Edward Mai & Ai Choo.
1.0 Amendment to Minutes
1.1The adjournment of last meeting was supported by Balan Menon & not Jane.
2.0 Confirmation of minutes
2.1 The 850th Meeting Minutes was then proposed for adoption by Victor &
seconded by Terrie Loo.
3.0 Charity Car Wash 2009 – Mike Ong proposed that the project be carried out
after all the installation ceremonies.
4.0 Bursary Awards – Victor reported on the home visit to the 2 orphans in Balik
Pulau on 21/06/09. Members accepted his recommendation to help the 2 kids in their educational needs for a period of time. Terrie advised that the Club can write to the National Board for financial aids, not necessarily to be from bursary awards only.
5.0 Apex Pg Installation Night
5.1 Organising Chairman Victor expected to book 5 tables and the menu is being
decided upon with Jane Chan.
5.2 Thanking the Organising Chairman, President also requested all Apexians to be
present early.
6.0 Nat’l Conventions & Installation Nites of other Clubs :-
6.1 Nat’l Convention of Apex M’sia – 7/8/09 to 9/8/09 at Federal Hotel, KL

President requested the Secretary to send an apology for not able to attend BSP
Club’s Installation and to wish the new President & Board every success.
6.2 Terrie, Victor, Mike & Jane attended the SP Club Installation Night on 4/7/09.
7.0 Other Directors’ Reports
7.1 Members thanked Lifer Tony for writing on behalf of Apex Penang to Apex
Australia to support the ascension of Bruce Mackie to life membership.
7.2 Balan Menon requested Apex Penang to consider supporting Apex Initiation
2009/2010 as informed by NRM Apexian Scott whereby 8 Australians to be
home hosted by Apexians in Singapore and Malaysia between Nov 09 to Oct
2010.
8.0 General
8.1 Fines collection was RM29/=.
