David Chitty from Apex Club Of Malacca

To
National President
and Members of Apex Malaysia

I understand there will be a special meeting called by Lifer Sonny Thiagarajah on Wednesday, 30th June 2010, at the P.J. Club. A number of Apex members, some of them well known, have been invited to attend in order to brainstorm and find a solution to the problem of Apex going towards its downfall. Even the top officials of the N/B will be there and will spend RM200 towards the expenses. I am shocked at this turn of events and want to find out some important reasons:

1. Why is the meeting called by Sonny who has left Apex last August?

2. Why isn't the N/B calling the meeting?

3. Why can't this be discussed at the coming Convention in K.L. where all clubs will be represented and the discussion will be official? The delegates can discuss and reach some solution to the problem.

4. Why only call certain people, and what about the rest - aren't they important?

5. We have discussed this a number of times and have not reached any solution.

Please leave such things to all the clubs and let everyone know what is happening. They should have got reps from each club, which is the correct thing to do.

I am disappointed that the N/B is involved in this when they should have got this organised in a better manner.

Comments>>>>

1)

If I read your note correctly and the background you provide is accurate, then it is a strange turn of events. I agree that such initiatives should originate from the National Board (NB) or an active Club. If such meetings are called by others, there is a possibility that there would be individuals or Clubs trying to usurp the responsibilities of the NB and jeopardise the strategies or programmes that they may have. The Convention is only a month and a bit away and surely time could have been set aside to” find a solution to the problem of Apex going towards its downfall”. However, there may be more pressing issues that you and I do not know about, hence the call for the meeting.

2)

“HIBERNATING” is the word for Nat. Board members especially our NAAED !!! 2010 JOKE of the year. Do we need someone already resigned during the last Convention in KL, with NO more interest in Apex organisation and now calling for a brainstorm meeting on Apex SURVIVAL. This is shear insulting the intelligent of all the Apex members in Malaysia.

Hi David, this is NOT beer talking !!! Cheers ..

3)

Hi David, I support you questions 100%... I have known about this meeting for a couple of days and I’m not happy about a man and Lifer not standing aside as he stated, I have tried to have KL terminate him as there is no such thing in the Malaysian Constitution as a retired member.

You see the Malaysian Apex Association has no age limit therefore you’re in or out, correct well LM Sonny has been asked to resign from the club on several occasions and has not replied I pointed this out clearly at out last AGM prior to his grand announcement.

LM Sonny it now taking an each way bet and not putting in his money but seem to be able to still have his say.

I believe Sonny would like to say it all worked when I was in and now I have left it’s falling apart, he is a sneaky and not so clean man but seems to have the BLUFF over KL club (well some of its members) not all.

Most of all how can the N/B have a non financial member calling meeting informal and running up expenses that we have all paid in to.

4)

I agree with Lifer David Chitty for his comments on the meeting in KL for the specially invited people.

The brainstorming meeting should be initiated by National Board and an invitation should be sent to all clubs who are members of the association.

Thereafter, there should be a committee formed to look into various options to revive the the so called downhill of Apex. The right platform should be the National Convention, whereby the National board comes out with the proposal on the idea of brainstorming.

Still not late, this matter can still be discussed at National convention level to see ways of finding solution to the trouble.

Now, we see a lot of things are not transparent to all clubs as many things are decided within a few people.

On the other hand, we must also appreciate people coming forward to "REVIVE" Apex as they have much time to spend.

The question now is why clubs are not informed about this iniative to invite volunteers to sit in the TINK TANK group?

Let's meet in the Convention to discuss. Let's see more from MGR!

Cheers.
